30 Chinese jujube cultivars being trialed in New Mexico

The Jujube market Is for sure in its infancy in our country. China has grown jujube 7700 years and has170 species , 750 cultivars. We do need to start somewhere. It’s my opinion we need a USDA facility dedicated to jujube like Corvallis is to pears or Geneva to apples and then our country would not be so far behind on cultivation of this crop! Roger Meyer did a lot to promote jujube before he died but one man cannot do it all. GERMPLASM RESOURCES AND PRODUCTION OF JUJUBE IN CHINA

I was able to get Sandia reserved as well. It is supposed to be similar to Winter, but more suited for shorter seasons(7a and lower) . They also said to asked again in the spring to see if they had more of the new varieties available.
