Ate the most delicious apple today!

I am revisiting this now a month later. I ate one of the Goldrush I put into storage this week. It was much better than those that I had eaten when I first got them last month. Not sure if it was always just a better individual apple or all of them improved with storage. After storage this GR had a pineapple flavor with acid and intense sugar. So I can see why it is so popular with folks if more of them taste like that after storage.

Yes. Sweet pineapple acid. That is a good Goldrush.

I have eaten many of these club apples. I like most of them, but only one or two of them seem exceptional to me. Ruby Frost is excellent. I am glad that they are better quality apples than the junk that is typically found in grocery stores, but personally they are not what I am looking for. Most are crisp which does nothing for me. Most are super-sweet which is also not what gets my attention. None have the complexity of flavor of the very good old heirloom apples. Other than Ruby Frost, none even have the complexity of flavor of Arkansas Black.
