Dried limes

Dear daughter sent me a package of dried limes, which I now understand are something you use to cook with. Or season with. I whirled one up in a spice/coffee grinder and sprinkled some on a salmon/potato salad and it’s pretty good,.

Does anybody have any experience with these that they’d care to share?

Thanks!

I always let any citrus fruit I buy or grow dry out if not used… They make great disposal cleaner/freshener so…

No but it surely sounds interesting! Can you put it in tea?

I would think so, but I haven’t tried it yet. I searched it a bit online and it’s said to be a whole new something-or-another. I take it that it’s good on fish and fowl and is added to soups and light stews. I sprinkled a bit on a salmon bread salad and thought it was pretty OK, but it didn’t blow me away. I think it might benefit from being cooked into something, and I imagine somebody here has real experience with it!
