Any further updates on this project? This project gave me confidence to plant 7 high chill apples this spring in Southern California inland. Ashmead Kernel, Hudson’s Golden Gem, Fuji, Wickson Crab, Liberty, King David, and Newtown Pippin.

I live very close to this site, yet all I get is low chill variety apple like Golden Dorsett. My soil is hard clay.
