Check the pH of your water. I had problems with granular Captan breaking up into fine particles in my water, and found out it was because the pH of the water was too high (8.0). Once I lowered the pH of the water to 6.5 or lower, the granular Captan broke up easily. Captan effectiveness is also reduced by pH over 6.5 . Imidan’s effectiveness is also reduced if the pH of the spray solution is higher than 6.5 .
