Nitrogen Cycle Needs a Revision

The new findings by UC Davis could revamp our understanding of Nitrogen Cycle and Source. It turns out that rock weathering is a very significant global source of nitrogen, not just the air. Imagine, up to a quarter of nitrogen comes form the earth’s bedrock. This has tremendous repercussions in our current understanding of the nitrogen cycle and should help improve our concepts of sustainability and reevaluating the need for nitrogen fertilizer production!
