Strange shaped grapes

I was browsing some YouTube videos and found some by this fruit explorer guy tasting various fruits. Its pretty low-key and I like that he tries to describe the flavors and textures and does a reasonable job of it.

After a few videos, I ran across one of him trying unusually shaped grapes. It got me wondering if there are any cultivars worth eating, with unusual shapes that are available for home growers.

Do you guys know of any?

I bought some at the store and thought they were good! Never seen any plants,

I love that guy’s videos!!! They are addictive

I don’t believe they’re available as plants. Last time I saw these, mamuang and Mrs. G were talking about them, but I can’t find that thread. They got them at the grocery store.

Thanks for the comments, there appear to be a number of cultivars. At some point there should be something available to home growers, assuming genetics are accountable for the shape.

I am not a grapes person but those should be the “finger” grapes. Witch finger (I think marketed as teardrop), manikur finger, gold finger etc. My friend has about 200 varieties and has some of those so I am confident you can get them as well.

@mrsg47 and I talked about it in the thread called Moon Drop Grapes. Here’s the link.

I also talked about the moon drop grapes somewhere. THEY ARE GREAT! The same company that makes them has several other unusual varieties including cotton candy…and they are all among the best grapes I’ve ever bought. But I don’t think any of this helps with your question about home grower availability.
