About to buy frozen Muscadine 3 bucks a pound because of shipping!

Well I remember now I know some people say some grapes 1 month

I guess maybe even a 60 degree basement could cold stratify

Or is that not correct
(yes Florida can get in 40’s Orlando , but high again in day )

Much of the germplasm used to create modern muscadine varieties originated in North Carolina.

Seed dormancy: Pawpaw has physiological dormancy.

Seed germination: Stratify seeds using moist chilling for 100-120 days to satisfy physiological dormancy. Seeds contain a very small embryo that requires time to grow before germination begins. It can take over a month to see seedlings emerge after sowing."

I will get off the Net Now , but thank you so much the the links will read later …

I did quickly check for some things (on Dictionary .com)

A few years back I read up on this stuff, but forgot most
(also had a breeding science book (thirft store )
cannot find it (or may have been stolen)
they are to expensive for me now though

I have a few things to look at like Vernalization

http://www.botanydictionary.org/stratification.html

(part quote of Dormancy )

the gradual degradation of an impervious *testa or the progressive destruction of growth inhibiting substances such as coumarin, sometimes found in the seed coat. Seed or bud dormancy may also be broken by a specific light treatment.

(notes see Germination /

vernalin

A hypothetical plant growth substance that, it has been suggested, is formed in meristematic regions of a plant subjected to cold. Experiments that apparently show this substance can be transmitted to other plants by grafting have probably failed to separate the effects of photoperiod from those of vernalization. Thus the transmitted flower stimulus could be *florigen rather than vernalin. Other experiments suggest that, if such a substance is formed, it is only transmitted to other cells by cell division. Thus if one apex on a plant is locally vernalized, the other apices remain unvernalized. It is probable that there is no one substance formed by vernalization and that the biochemical basis of vernalization is different in different cold-requiring species. Thus applying gibberellin to seeds replaces the vernalization requirement in some species but not others. Other substances that have partly or completely replaced the vernalization requirement in different species include auxin, kinetin, RNA, and vitamin E. )

(EDIT WILL CHANGE TOPIC TITLE If I do experiment here
, of frozen seeds starting) or I may just edit the link in top.

Well A quick over I thought it was gonna be more scientific

Can get Cherimoya seed sprouted less then 2 week

I have a few tricks
Best to also soak many days
(that takes the time.)

I am learning but these are mostly just junk seeds (just for fun)

(not certain may have been a week in a half was so surprised )

Soak hot water in covered mason jar with lid to retain Heat
(keep changing water for several days
(when you can , but cannot do when sleep)

grow in very warm soil with Humidity
(if not humidity that is okay as well.)

(the trick is the soaking
(but I also like pine bark for seeds and sand, but did not use bark)

I keep my pawpaw seeds at (36°F to 38°F).
I use Citric Acid as a rinse before cold storage at 1 teaspoon per gallon.
Rinse very well, drain, put in freezer ziplock.
Refrigerate at 38°F
I’m about to sprout them.

Worried about getting these frozen fruit today

When does USP Usually come

What if the package cannot be deleivered today

What do they do
Take it back to the Postal office then what ?

Okay I got the tracking Number, and will arrive Tomorrow …

The email with tracking didn’t send right the email right, Have it now though.

I wonder if the gene for cold hardiness (and early ripening) would also help protect the seed if frozen…

Although you may lose self-fertile-ness or something else.

Good luck on the recipe. Cant wait to hear how it turns out.

I do not know
On the subject on citrus
MR. Texas here explains lemon , and other certain citrus can dried, and frozen to store.

I expect some of these things about freezing seed may be more complicated…

I know To look at nature, and have a open mind.

I may get some junk seeds (tropical )
and some pawpaw and freeze, but then cold stratify to see if this works

God Bless every one Life is short Be safe .

Vinification was done in different ways
I actually separated this wine in 2 batches
here is a picture of my over flow in glass tea bottle that’s bottled

this was not by choice, because I had to leave and did not want the wine to over flow , and someone else deal with it …

(well I want to do a lot of things but had to get to the airport like right away with not enough time to lock up bicycle (at Local train )

I measured Specific Gravity 1.050 for these grapes
I did not have time to add sugar
(or had enough for it all, but for white I did)

OH to Non vinters
Wine pulp rises because of C02 gas
So air space needs to be in the Vat.

The timing was in a way I had to do certain things different

One of the sealed bags was dethawed, and fermenting so partial carbonic Maceration took place.
(that is fermenting in skins with co2 added in a sealed environment )

If I would have started in middle of week everything would of been screwed up (so that was why I did that because of circumstances, and I would not be home.)

It does taste good, and not oxidized. (so far at least)

Excuse the floor the bright colors keep in looking dirty especially with a dog
Thinking of getting those steel Lyon Cabinets powder coated it’s also local to Aurora IL…

I may have more pictures I warn you we only mop once a week
(unless Vinification is taking place even if the airport is waiting-
if people saw me actively cleaning on hands, and knees quickly they may think UH … I’m a very enthusiastic cleaner …)
