Amazing photo of inside of a successful graft

Currently obsessed with all things grafting, and I found this on a site for grafting pecans:

The grafter is William Reid, who has worked with pecan grafts for decades. I’m putting the photo here but I urge people to go to the website and see the explanation of the changes in the wood. Fascinating!

That’s an interesting and educational illustration. I still think the fact that a graft takes at all, is amazing.

Very nifty- and I agree, just the fact that it can be done at all is wonderful.

Lizzy. Great picture. This is something I would like to do down the road with some of my pear to apple grafts. The first ones are growing after 4 years but I don’t want to sacrifice those for a display. Bill
