Anyone try 2 figs in a 15-gal pot?

Do they do well? I’m limited to maybe 15 pots in my winter storage area. I was wondering how 2 figs would do in the same pot if I wanted to try a few more varieties in my limited storage space.

Why not 1 in a 5 gallon and then whichever is your favorite gets more space?

Half as good as 2 figs in two separate 7 g pots?

I think I’d recommend grafting multiple varieties to a single central leader on a single tree in a big pot. For example, grow four scaffolds on one central leader, then graft one variety to each scaffold.

If you grow them to a single leader 2 pots will actually take up less space than 2 trees in one pot. Single trunk trees in 5-7 gallon pots can be stacked into a pyramid. Ive only gone 2 high but no reason you couldnt try for a 3rd level

I’ve been growing 3 fig trees in one 20 gallon pot for a couple years and they seem to be doing ok. I wouldn’t say it’s the best way to do it - I prefer to have them in their own pot, but ehh…. They were back up cuttings that rooted, and I ran out of containers when needing to up pot and just threw them all in together….

I plant 2 in 5, 7 and 10 gal pots. They do OK for me.
