Can anyone tell me what this is? I was over at my neighbors collection scions from the prunings. He was asking what the dead spots are on the branches. The closest I could find so far is anthracnose.

Maybe Black Rot (Botryosphaeria obtusa)?

I forgot to mention the black he said was something he sprayed on.
Could it be an extreme case of sun scald?
