Apple ID help

I got a scion from Maple Valley Orchard of what was supposed to be Claygate Pearmain, but clearly is not. Seems to be ripe late august, and fell off overripe today on sep 1st. Sweet but kind of boring apple-y flavor. It is pretty big too. Any idea what it could be?

Ripening times vary depending on where a person lives. A GD apple ripens in late July in the Foothills of TX and maybe late Sept/early October in NY. We need to know where you live, otherwise, the ripening date is helpful. It looks exactly like what Trees of Antiquity is selling as a Claygate P.

Pacific Northwest, puget sound area. You are right, it kind of looks like pictures on some websites, but not others. All list it as a late ripening apple though

Looks like a Claygate king fruit.
