Apple Maturity

I bought a Pink Lady Apple
but it’s so late ripening
I traded in for a Yellow Newtown.

I think the dates are 5-7 days early for my yard, but yeah, our season seems a couple weeks too short for many good fruits. I consider mid-October to be iffy for apples, and mid-September to be iffy for stone fruits. If our season were two weeks longer, I would have a Bavay’s Gage tree. My concern is the rain & temperature drop late in the season, after a dry sunny Summer. I had Jonagold apples crack one year.

Yes
I’ve heard that it can ripen up here
Pink Lady
but
I traded in for a Yellow Newtown Pippin.
Late also
but earlier than Pink Lady.
