Apple trees at Seed Savers Exchange

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but 2016 catalog from Seed Savers Exchange has 20 “rediscovered heirloom apples” listed. They’re not available until spring 2017 and they’re $49.50 each!

I did a VERY brief cross check against Scott’s “2005-2015 Apple Summary” and I didn’t see any duplicates, but his list is sorted by ripening order and their’s is alphabetical so it’s hard to do a quick comparison.

Anyhow, here’s a link with the varieties listed:

This came up in some other thread. If you instead join Seed Savers you pay around $25 for membership then pay $5 per scion and get your own trees started this spring for a lot cheaper  They have many interesting apples, I have gotten scions from them in past years.

I have grown several of the ones on their list. Of the ones that fruited for me I like Wagener, Cockle Pippin, and Transparent Croncels (Croncels).
