Bag Buster

Do you have any bag busters or any that would have burst a bag? I have some close but as of now they are still contained. This is a fun time to walk around and see almost daily changes in the various fruit inside each bag. No breaks at my house.

Honey Crisp. By the time they ripen, the opening of the bags were … open. They are huge apples.

Mine are probably 4-6 weeks away from being that size. I need to get a pic of them.

I like these pictures of the bagged pears in your garden. I haven’t considered using sandwich bags before because I figured they wouldn’t breathe and would rot the fruit. Punching holes is a good idea, I think I might try this next year. Have you used these on peaches / do you think they could be used to prevent oriental fruit moth damage on peaches?

I have only used the bags on apples, pears and one plum so I don’t know about peaches. I’m pretty sure the bags would mostly protect peaches from most insect damage.

One of the few remaining Orient pears getting near the bag busting stage.
