Hi!
I am debating between planting an Elberta peach tree or a Fay Elberta. I don’t know the difference, can’t find many reviews online for the Fay. Which one is tops for flavor?

Fay is better
Elberta is pretty mediocre. It’s advantages are that it has very little color so birds don’t peck it as much as modern, red skinned types- has some resistance to brown rot and sizes up well. The skin comes free easily also to make canning easier. I used to grow it but have better tasting varieties in its season now.
Thanks for the info! Can you list a couple top favorites that are worth having instead of Elberta for flavor?
PF28 or 27. Messina. Harcrest (really good for home orchards- doesn’t get much brown rot). Cummin’s nursery used to carry Harcrest, maybe it does still.
