Many of my Contorted So’s have these markings. They’re not deep, fruit still tastes great, but look awful. Birds? I don’t see where birds could sit to try to eat these, there’s no solid branch close to many of these fruits.
Grasshoppers?
We rarely see those in Dallas. I haven’t seen any.
I have a few on mine to. I think it is ants. A couple they have made their way into and set up housekeeping…or at least a banquet table.

I have ants and Japanese beetles are eating my jujube fruits.
Tony
I suppose it could be ants. I’ll try some ant poison after harvest season. Thanks!
Hi Tony! What does a jujubee look like after a Japanese beatle feasts on it?
Don’t forget that ants are also some of the pollinators…
Bob,
When I get home after working today, I will take some photos of the damage jujube fruits.
Tony
I cannot hit the like button on that…
Katy
Wow those Japanese beetles are tough! I haven’t seen anything like that in Dallas
My healthy Sherwood is at my office, I’ll take pictures tomorrow
Don’t say it very loud about not seeing Japanese beetles. I don’t think I want them showing up here!!!
