Bottomless pots for growing blueberries

I would like to make an experiment and test if there are any drawbacks of growing blueberry plants in bottomless pots…
The main reason for testing is to reduce the cost and make the manufacturing of pots easier.
The substrate is made up of peat moss, coco peat and DE…
What kind of chemical or mechanical interaction may take place with time between the substrate and the soil…
The alternatives for the bottomless pot material are terracotta, cheap cored bricks etc.
Fertilizers will be added to irrigation water.

By the way, my intention is not to open more space for root growth. I know their roots are shallow.

I’m certainly not an expert—and my blueberries, such as they are, are all in ground—, but this sounds very workable to me. It would be much like growing in an amended raised bed, wouldn’t it?

I would think it would be difficult to move the pots until the roots fill it to hold the plant in place. I wouldn’t think it would hurt the plant any, since the roots are shallow, assuming you had a deep enough pot that they don’t reach into the ground beneath the pot.
