I can’t see Fruitnut’s answer. Hollywood pollinates really well in my orchard. I get tons of Asian plums.

Burgundy Plum is self fertile which eliminates the need for a pollinizer in the small yards of many homeowners. In my opinion, it tastes just as good if not better than the old favorites of Mariposa and Satsuma Plums - each of which requires a pollinizer to fruit.

The Burgundy Plum is one that nearly every nursery should sell. It is an excellent tasting, red fleshed Japanese Plum which for us ripens over a long period from Early July until late August and sometimes into early September.

I always thought our Beauty plum was fertilizing our Flavor Grenade. However, the Beauty did not bloom this year at the correct time and the Flavor Grenade produced well anyway. Also nearby there is an Aprium that is setting blossoms about the time the Flavor Grenade is opening flowers, and a very young Sprite that had 4 flowers. It could be that my neighbor across the street planted a plum – I’ll have to check.
