Can I dry stratified seed?

I have some goumi seeds stratifying in the fridge. Now that we are moving, I don’t know what to do with them. Can I dry them back out and store them?

Never heard of any seed taken from strat to reverse the cycle. My answer is no you cannot.

I am not an expert but I would expect you to have either not chilled them or enough, in which case you’d be fine, or they’ll sprout. May just have a couple of lots of dirt just in case? Even just dixie cups if you don’t have space.

Right. Take them with you in the moist media. Its that simple, really. Return them to strat again.

A few days or a week isn’t going to harm the stratification period.

Well, we’re moving to an apartment, so it will be years before I can plant them. Maybe I’ll just throw them out in the fence row and imagine that they survive.

I was going to ask if you were moving to somewhere where seeds/plants are restricted. An apartment is just as bad!

Sure enough. Good question you asked.
