I’ll look for ya. I might wear a name tag from some other volunteer experience…
I might go. At the moment I have a cold and am quarantining myself. If all better by mid next week, maybe I’ll go.
Last year I brought scion from NorthPole. Due to Canadian Patent will be run out (I think as of yesterday) on Scarlet Sentinel Apple (apparently never patented in US) I might bring that one this year too.
On the other hand, with COVID-19 it might be best to avoid crowds…
I am planning on going to HOS as well as Raintree the day prior. I eagerly look forward to seeing you both and others!
I reconsidered. OR and WA both have declared public health states of emergency. Im over 60 and have a health issue that means more caution, as does my family member. I am not one to live in fear, but I do want to be cautious for myself and others. Last week I had a cold, quarantined myself at home, got better. I did not want to spread my illness, cold or whatever, to others.
One of the reasons I garden is for healthier lifestyle. I think being prudent about being in a crowd during an epidemic, might be part of that.
I will feed my gardening obsession by doing some grafting at home. My Raintree order arrived yesterday, including apple and peach rootstocks, and three bare root fruit trees. That will keep me busy. There are also tomato seeds to plant
Maybe I can go to the HOS Fruit Fair come October. Haven’t been to any of their big gatherings, nor to their little volunteer types, for that matter. It’s something like 380 miles to drive to the community college campus.
DaveB just told me about a Heritage Orchard Conference to be held in Sandpoint, Idaho. Rumor is that will occur later this fall, perhaps first Saturday in November. Much closer for me.
