Thanks for the list of late honeyberries! I’ve been seeing honeyberries in nurseries this year, but I don’t trust nurseries to know that late ones are most likely to succeed this far south (TN). This list saves me the trouble of looking up each honeyberry I come across.

If I can track down Elliot pear i will plant that next year, or graft and plant in 27

Planting summercrisp, golden spice and tennosui pears as replacements.

Looking forward to more American pear cultivars being released over coming years, seems like lots in the works from usda

Olympic Korean Giant asian pear harvested October 9th. Could have let it go longer. The best Asian pear i’ve had, really opened my eyes to there potential. 15% brix, super dense flesh, perfect texture and crunch indescribable. Did not take notes going off memory. The ONLY negative, given by two people, is the skin is slightly thick. But that probably adds in growing in a regenerative/organic way. 12.89 OZ. Healthy tree no issues this year

Blackberries and elderberries did great this year. None died from cold and lots of production. will take detailed notes in 2026

Blueberries and honeyberries growing slow, would have benefited from irrigation in the 1st year which they did not have. Still not sold on the quality of honeyberries after seeing the huge delicious blackberries we got this year

Galarina harvested October 27th, should have waited 2 weeks. Brix 14%. Dense crispy flesh not as good as the korean giant but harvested to early. Healthy tree, like korean giant.

They ripen at different times so it’s not apples to apples…or berries to berries as it were

Def agree, but it is space to space and effort to effort and result to result (size, brix, yield, flavor, processing ability)

Not anti honeyberry, but year 2 from commercial perspective blackberries and elderberries blow them away in my orchard

sour bush cherries didnt produce yield but grew well this year only valentine for aphids/disease
