The madarins are from Corsica, the Litchis are from Madagascar, I ate the pineapple from the Phillipines, the oysters I had for a holiday lunch! The butcher is one of three in my town. Wow, it is a show stopper at Christmas! Mrs. G.
I’ll eat the last plate, thank you!
Dax
The food is attractively displayed, that’s for sure.
Now that’s a market!
I’ll take two of everything!
Amazing
Neat as a pin!
Merry Christmas, Mrs. G!! God Bless!
Chikn.
A whole lot of pre-prepared food
Mrs.G.,
Look like one does not need to create a dish from scratch in Uzes!!!
Those oysters looked yummy.
Bon Appetit and Happy Holiday!!!
If you can afford it, prices seem 3x what we pay here in USA.
Keep in mind most of that is organic or sprayed much less and longer between harvest and most of the meat is most likely free range and not fed gmo corn/soy or its litter mates that did not make it.
Prices…that really is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to large corporate farming operations in huge containment barns or pens or houses.,verses organic or “old fashioned” methods of raising livestock.
As long as people have the info to make informed decisions, and can make choices…sounds good to me.
But, I have a grumble about the little ‘farmer’ with an acre or two who grows his stuff organically…but can’t call it “organic” because he’s not been inspected and “certified”.
Such programs always help the big guys and hurt the little guys.
Always.
Always.
