Does anyone have any experience using lavender or nasturtium to control codling moth ?
The theory is that if you have these plants under or near the tree, it will help deter control codling moth or the caterpillar.
thanks in advance.

The lavender in our backyard did not deter the moths one bit.
I also had lavender under one stand of apples and don’t recall a difference. These oils are repellants but I expect they need to be on the fruits and not many feet away.
I thought nasturtiums were for aphids but i use both and like the lavender as i think it supports beneficials and you would probably need a large amount of lavender to mask the smell of an apple tree. I don’t think you can have a few lavender plants and expect it to work, they need to be in the trees root zone and done in the style of natural gardening not a regular yard that only supports pests full of fruit trees that also only support pests. I have huge hedges of lavender but not under my apple trees (different companion planting) and do no spray, I only get 1 in 5 say with CM and my neighbours seem to get more like half or 1/3 but they have larger trees too. The one neighbor who insanely sprays his huge apple tree with permethrin (he bathes in it) seems to have it the worst but maybe he is bad at timing cuz other GD seem to do fine.
My lavender was in the root zone but it wasn’t all that big a stand. Maybe a very large stand close to the tree could work, lots of lavender gives off lots of smell.
