Collecting Pawpaw Flower Samples

You’re mostly correct here. Depending what they want the roots for, the summer solstice could be the perfect day; e.g. roots for propagation or for tests of cell activity or DNA during root growth stages. But the cells in the roots are active year-round and the winter solstice can be the perfect day to collect samples for other analysis goals.

I just got an email from one of the directors at NCSU Herbarium expressing their interest in this specimen. So I need to stay with the fruit collection through the season as well.

Are these from the Giant pawpaw talked about in the Brushy Mtn Pawpaw post?
Or a different tree?
