Cummins Nursery 2027 rootstock and scionwood drop

makes sense as harbin is z2 hardy so crosses of it should be pretty hardy also. i have housi growing well here but our winters arent what they used to be. plan to graft it to my harbin next spring.

I have tons of mountain ash seedlings in the garden of my commercial property. I didn’t know you could graft pears onto them. They certainly would not be dwarf size; the Mtn Ash get huge here.

i have 9 pear varieties on 2 mtn ash. they were grafted over at about 5ft. one is a ivans beauty hybrid that i didnt like the fruit s now its a pear. got 42 pears off both of them back in sept. my mature m. ash lining my property are about 50ft. and we figure about 50 yrs old. they make great cold weather, wet soil rootstocks. i just sent about 100 seed to Hobbs horticulture ( Everett) in Hope, ME . he may be selling pear grafted to them in the future.

Cummins has some Krymsk 1, 6/7 for cherries, and 86 for any most stone fruit, except cherries, and questionable with at least some apricots, that you want to grow, somewhat giant-ly.

K86 has been hard to find in previous years in <10 quantities, I bought 4 from OGW last year and now need to figure out/remember what I was thinking of grafting to them. :upside_down_face:
