Daffodil bulbs with new roots

Two completely separate batches of daffodil bulbs, bought from different sources this fall, had new white roots already emerging from the bulb. I would assume this is probably not an issue since I planted promptly, except in some cases, those new roots were already desiccated, and it was clear they were not the old roots from last season, but new roots that had just emerged.

Will they have the ability to regenerate another set of roots after planting, or they doomed?

I imagine they’ll be just fine! Even freezing solid as an ice cube has not killed them in my experience.

(But, all else being equal, I’d rather keep the new roots rather than kill them, even if the bulb will still live / come up next spring.)
