As the fridge is filling up with pears, I am wondering if the damaged pears have any uses. They never really ripen right and until now I have been trashing them. Do they have any uses or are they just trash.
Peel the skin , slice thin and sun dry them

Pear butter. I used all my damaged pears like that. Tasted really good that way.

I’ve found that some underripe pears bake up just fine. Cut into halves or quarters and drizzle a bit of maple syrup/honey and/or spice, with or without some granola and then 380 for 20mins to 1/2 hour is delicious and the underripe sweetened up but stayed firmer.
