im jealous. i can go a whole season and maybe see 10 does covering alot of acerage.

I have a little bit of grass but it only gets mowed when it’s too tall for the dog to run around comfortably. I was having a conversation with a friend, an older friend, who really really cares about his development’s lawn care for the sake of curb appeal and “property value”. I told him he would probably not like me as a neighbor… I barely mow, the leaves stay until after everything in spring wakes up which then turns into mulch for the garden/orchard, and my front “yard” is now home to native wildflowers and perennial bushes. I care way more about my edible landscape than the grass - I save the water for things that will feed me and help pollinators.
Granted, I am not in a development, but tucked away in the woods. I have the luxury of not having those types of neighbors breathing down my neck about my lawn. I gave my friend a laundry list of things that occupy my mind way more than my lawn, and especially my neighbor’s lawns. 
Me, too. Your lawn looks neat and nice. I just can’t manage to mow my lawn in a timely manner.
Thank goodness, my neighbors are fine with my often unkempt lawn and that we don’t have a housing association!! (never want it, anyway).

I mow a couple of times a season between the rows in my orchard otherwise my wife does the “lawn” which is mostly a combo of fescue/rye and broadleaves (clover, violets, dandolions and creeping charlie). I bought her a zero-turn so she could easily maneuver around all my trees. One benefit is mowing keeps the tick numbers down.
