Do you always soak your bare root trees before planting?

i never really soak them, but i soak the hole and the dirt I’ll fill the hole with. they go into mud!

when i first get them they go in damp sawdust or such until I’m planting too.

my grandpa would say “they can kill ya but they can’t eat ya” any time he was gonna get in trouble.
