They might be ok in a sheltered spot. It was a couple of extreme events for sure. The 111 and antonovka were unfazed so I was impressed. I had hail damage on the UNDERneath side of the branches of all apples (regardless of rootstock). The wind was strong enough that it blew the branches up/vertical, and then the horizontal hail pelted the under sides and split the bark open.

Yikes! We don’t really get weather like that in New Hampshire, except maybe if a hurricane comes through. I lived in Kansas for a while, and a calm day there is like a windy day here.
