Dry brown tips on nectarine

This was a pretty late bare root planting - Arctic Star nectarine. It was planted about a month ago and I have been watering it about once a week. I’ve been pretty good about not over-watering since they are on Nemagard. They are also on a raised mound as well. But maybe they need more water?

There are two green branches that have the tips turning brown and are shriveled. The one woody branch looks completely fine. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Nothing to worry about as long as the tree is growing and has nice green leaves, Cut that off to a new shoot growing in the direction you want. It happens all the time on newly planted stone fruits. And they don’t grow where you want so you have to adapt.

Also make sure you cut just above a bud. IMHO that shoot died to the nearest bud. You don’t want that on there to attract disease and pests. Always cut just above a bud to minimize dieback.

Will do. Thanks guys.
