Eating Mulberries

I have more Gerardi mulberries then I know what to do with. Any good recipes besides jam?

There are lots of recipes for mulberry pie online… and it sure looks delicious.

Mulberry muffins

Mulberry crumble

I have dehydrated them, made jam and eaten a lot fresh.

I have also made a fermented kavass drink with a combination of strawberries and gerardi mulberries. It was very nice.

I made jam from mine yesterday.. today we are eating them fresh.

I like mulberries and pecans mixed with Greek yogurt.

I’ve been freezing extras but they aren’t especially great as to eat as frozen fruit. But I figure they’ll be fine as ingredients for other stuff though

I have not done this but I have purchased dried mulberries. I thought they were pretty good for snacking that way. Maybe something to check in to?

Edit read the reviews looks like I’m not alone.

I freeze extra berries and use them for breakfast protein smoothies

Mulberry cordial is worth trying if you have a surplus. Just simmer with sugar and a bit of lemon, strain, and bottle it. Keeps for weeks in the fridge and the flavour is really good — nicer than jam in some ways because you actually taste the fruit.

cook em into crumble or pie filling and freeze that instead. when you want a pie in December pull out the bag and make one
