Eruo plum pruning first year

I just planted a Mt Royal plum. Does anyone have any suggestions on pruning it, or if it even should be the first year? It’s still dormant. I did some brief searching and it seems like I could go either central leader or open center. Is there one that’s better than another for plums?

I’ve done an open center style for all my plum trees but did not do a very good job at the time.

If I were to do it again, I would follow Skilcult’smethod and do a delayed open center, which is an open center with more thought into it. You can look up his pruning videos on to do it.

Thanks, I watched his video. I think I’m going to leave it this season. It has a lot of spots where branches are growing out nice already.
