These are some of the fastest growing salad greens. Planted 10 days ago.

In order left to right.

Arugula

Endive

Kale

Romaine lettuce (Red Sails is supposed to be faster.)

Mustard

Radish greens

Out of all these, mustard seems to be the fastest.

Mustard is always the first one up for me too. Arugula usually catches up within a couple of weeks though, especially once it warms up. Nice comparison shot.

I never have grown salad greens until now. I have several 7 gallon pots with purslane, both common and golden purslane. I am shocked at how fast it germinates and recovers from a Chelsea Chop at 1 inch. Next spring I will plant it in a raised bed so I have more available at 1 picking.

Well, 2 weeks after planting and mustard is the king and radish greens are coming in 2nd.

Iā€™m thinking about adding another box to spread things out. My garden as well as trees are always jammed packed.
