Mustard is always the first one up for me too. Arugula usually catches up within a couple of weeks though, especially once it warms up. Nice comparison shot.
I never have grown salad greens until now. I have several 7 gallon pots with purslane, both common and golden purslane. I am shocked at how fast it germinates and recovers from a Chelsea Chop at 1 inch. Next spring I will plant it in a raised bed so I have more available at 1 picking.
