Thanks for this decade of updates. @weatherandtrees linked me here for inspiration on my current girdling problems + bridge grafting needs.

The great winter girdling of 2026. Do I have any hope of recovery?

[IMG_5792] Asian pear, bark eaten around entirety of trunk [IMG_5793] Asian pear, bark eaten, but not entirely around. [IMG_5796] 4 foot tall, hardy, kiwi, vine, nibbled through and severed and girdled. [IMG_5795] Persimmon, gnawed up and down the trunk. [IMG_5794] Another hardy Kiwi, several years old and chewed upon and severed.

I think I’m going to try a bridge graft on my pears; the persimmon may or may not work. Fingers crossed. Love to see how yours recovered.
