Flat Peaches

This is something that I currently do not have in my collection. I bought some wonderful flat peaches at a farmers market last week that were just labeled as locally grown flat peaches. I’m curious what they may have been and what varieties are the best.

The peach I bought was nearly white fleshed and freestone. They were medium sized.

I’ve heard of Saturn, Galaxy, TangOs, and Sweet Bagel but really haven’t researched them much. Do you thinnk the peach I ate could be one of those? It would be currently ripening in western PA right now.

Are any of these more disease resistant that others?

I’m picking Sweet Cap, which is a red-skinned white peach. But I doubt PA is as far along as we are here. My guess it’s Saturn or Galaxy. Sweet Cap is about 4 weeks after Redhaven.
