Flordaking peach production

So I planted this peach tree about 4ish years ago, when I wasn’t as vested into gardening. I would prune it some here and there (not really fully understanding how). Well as of this past winter I started to take more pride in the tree and gave it a hard prune(still didn’t fully understandhow until doing more research after the fact) and this spring it was putting out good growth. My question is I never really got any decent fruit from the tree. I’m in san antonio texas. I did give it some fertilizer this early spring and a layer of bagged compost then covered with mulch. As of today the few peaches that are on the tree are only dime sized. What I gathered on the internet they should already be near harvest size. So I guess what I’m asking is should I give it one more year before I Remove it and replace it with another variety? ( mid pride, fanicks or red barron? ) I’ll try and post pictures later today when I get home.

MidPride is an awesome peach here in southern CA. But your FlordaKing should not be under-performing at your location. Something is amiss.

Yes, I believe so also. I’m thinking of giving it one more year with more care now. The tree seems healthy. No visual diseases. But perhaps the first few years of no fertilizer and minimal water caused an issue. I might just plant another peach in a different location just as a back up. But the heat is already on down here.
