Today a tree service company was taking down a big pine tree down the street. I stopped and said if they wanted, they could dump the chips in my driveway when they were done. They said sure, and a few hours later this was in my driveway, a whole dump truck load of chips. Free mulch, with free delivery. Hard to beat that! …Now I just have to move it to the backyard one wheel barrow at a time.
You lucky guy!!!
That’s how I get it too. Sometimes I can get them to dump the logs also. It’s definitely the best way to get it!
Nice, I asked about the logs too (for firewood, I haven’t gotten into chainsaw milling yet but I want to someday) but they said a timber company wanted them since it’s a Ponderosa pine.
Ha, I’ve moved about 24 yards of this free treasure over my yard. My neighbor keeps sweeping all her leaves and twigs to the pick up pile on the street. But we both agree on one thing - the other one is crazy!
Vinod, I love it!! I somewhat do the same as your neighbor a lot of the time. I’ll either put the leaves and branches in my “green waste” garbage can or I’ll burn them on my burn pile (yes we can still do that up here in Butte county, CA) …We’re all crazy by the way!! Ha!
