Free standing dwarf apple trees

I always stake my newly planted fruit trees for at least 3 years. I think it gives them a better chance to be straight as they grow the roots. If the truck is not straight enough it gives me something to work on to get the trunk straighter. I have had some fruit trees I have bought that looked very crooked. Using a few stakes and some bike tire tubes I can manipulate the trunk to be straighter, less chance of leaning or cracking off.

Yes, it should be once it settles in the ground for a couple of years. Always watch for excess weight on the canape. Excessive weight on a scion graft may make the tree break at the graft when the trunk is thinner and younger.
