Doh!!! The birds have, apparently, been as patient for my Lapin Cherries to ripen as myself. I had hoped my improvised “solution” of using plastic web bags (like the kind mandarins come in) just over the fruit would deter the birds but NO. I woke up to much partially eaten fruit. So if anyone was thinking of duplicating my attempts - don’t.
Lessoned learned. Luckily the potted tree is small enough to keep netted. Next year I will run a bunch of netting with the fence as a backbone.
I’m guessing it was Starlings. Damn smart birds!
