What does an inedible banana fruit taste like?

They contain numerous rock-hard pebble size seeds. The flavor of the pulp ranges from chalk (e.g. Basjoo) to sweet (e.g. native Musa acuminata in Burma).

So it’s just the presence of seeds that makes them inedible?

Plus the fact they haven’t been cultivated for flavor.
