Are flowering apricots and fruiting apricot ume the same? i guess im a little confused due to their names listed on online nurseries call them plum some call them apricots. Like for example would a kobai Flowering Apricot make ume? or would it be as productive as something sold as fruiting ume? please share info and photos would be helpful.
And, I have heard flowering apricots can be frost sensitive i lost a nice size potted kobai over this mild winter in zone 8B. the branches aren’t brown but black. i don’t know if its death to cold or death to fungus?
