Jan 02 and I just tried Silverleaf nuts raw and I liked them. The others I tried were bitter when raw, so I updated my prior post.
My wife went to the Asian market and spotted these giant chestnuts. She bought a few pounds for me. They are very tasty.

After his insights and the presented varieties of @Castanea ExJ chestnut hybrids such as Bergantz, Gillet, Torakuri and Chinese hybrids such as Yolo Grande and Szego (which were not tested at the Piemont Chestnut Centar in Italy), I got a new idea to establish a new small family chestnut plantation on a neglected vineyard site. ![]()
