Good use for those facilitators of cedar apple rust

Three years ago I cut this cedar tree near my fruit trees and saved the trunk. I finally figured out a good use for it. Hope the old saying is true, if you build it they will come. Open house. Fifteen minute job and it looks like it. Tools required. Chain saw, drill, and a bit.

What tenants do you expect there? Wild bees?

What size are the holes supposed to be? (Am I being lazy?)

I cut down a blue spruce that had a bad case of scoliosis to make room for more peaches a few weeks ago. I’d like to drill the logs and lay them in a pile for this.

Bill, I love the Mason Bee house, I think it looks great! You even got a nice overhang. Let us know if you get any residents

I will. Thanks

Mason Bees. Only been up a couple of days but I don’t have any takers. I might have to update the kitchen.

great weather resistance…the thing that crossed my mind when I saw this was whether the aromatic wood which is supposed to be a deterrent to moths might also repel other insects ?
