It arrived today, keeping it in the cool for a day or two as I wait for temps to warm
Well, my golden rain tree has swelling buds…but my order from Raintree Nursery…I have no idea…thought maybe they had all taken a month vacation.
They sent an email saying they would ship by march 30, they did, not a day early though.
Yeah, Blueberry . . . me too. I placed orders from Isons and Burnt Ridge - which I am anxiously awaiting!
Isons says my order is ‘being prepared’ . . . (I asked for it to be delivered first of April.) And Burnt Ridge is telling me to expect it 2 weeks from now. I will ask for earlier delivery dates in the future, because all my winter orders arrived in a timely manner. I was worried about them sitting in the garage for months . . . but they are all healthy and beginning to leaf out!
I think we probably would get better stock with the winter orders, as well. Maybe someone else can comment on this? - Karen
The last order I placed (in March) was the first one I received. It was from Lawyer Nursery.
(They are wholesale only…although I guess they’d sell to anybody if the orders met their $300 minimum.)
Cummins Nursery shipped just a few days after my requested ship date. I have orders form Raintree and Burnt Ridge that were requested in March…and I am patiently (sort of ) waiting.
Raintree shipping is always painfully slow but they have such great quality trees!
I like it that I can order just a few rootstocks from them
Mine came I today also. Calling for 18 deg F tomorrow night. May wait till Sunday to plant.
Cold here too for the next few days , the plum rootstock has green buds on it. I will wait until Monday
Well, approximately some 5 years ago I ordered and got some good stuff from Raintree. At that point I don’t think I visited their website.
(Which misled me into thinking I’d get a March ship date when I placed the order this spring.)
Before it was a catalog and a phone call.
I have my tracking for Burnt Ridge package now…so only waiting on Raintree.
I feel pretty sure it’ll be good product again…and with the dusting of snow we got this morning…probably just as well they still have my stuff in their warehouses!
Well here they are going into the ground today. Four ohxf 87, one quince, one krymsk 1 , and one bud 9
It’s always exciting getting an order in, ain’t it?
You might have mentioned what you got them for, but what are you going to do with them?
I will plant them and let them grow this year then put named varieties on them next. The bud 9 I may try as an interstem
I ordered March 21 from Raintree and got a ship date of April 30th, it’s rootstock… I should have ordered much earlier, my bad. I will next year! I ordered from Burnt Ridge the day after I ordered from Raintree and that package is en route for Friday (yay!). It’s such a fun time of year between the incoming orchard materials and all the babies being born on the farm!
I’ll hope so…we’ll find out tomorrow.
