Grafting Cherries on YouTube

I think folks have posted this guy’s work here before. This year it looks like he is doing a video blog of his grafting work.

He has lots of interesting material for those interested in grafting sweet cherries.

It is pretty interesting that he grafts cherries while they are dormant and it is getting below freezing.

Thats where I live, in the desert.
I’m grafting Cherries this spring and was wondering about timing… now.

This should be an interesting channel. I’ve seen this guy before and his process is really quick. I’m always surprised at how large his grafting wood is. I’ve never once grafted a 1" scion. lol He needs to get a proper microphone that can handle some wind.

I have done grafting cherries lots of time and i graft them before leaf out.
Here you can see cherry cleft graft how to video

Yes, it is him. I couldn’t remember his other YouTube channel, but that’s it.

His discussion of a cambium cross rather than matching cambiums makes a lot of sense.

Thank you, good videos.

I noticed he uses a specific pruning sealer. When I saw the 5-gallon bucket I thought to myself, he’s using Henry Asphalt sealer which I have used in the past. When he was unloading it I could see that the bucket said Henry 124 which is a ure product made by the same company. He called it an asphalt emulsion. I wonder how similar the 124 is to the actual Henry Asphalt Emulsion product you can buy at Home Depot?
