I found a Wild Currant growing in my neighborhood and want to graft it to one of my Gooseberry shrubs. It is an experiment to see what kind of Currant it is. I’ve also done some cuttings and trying to root them. I do not for see any issues but going to ask the rest of you folks for your .02.

Currants are very easy propagated by cuttings, what are you trying to accomplish by grafting?
For starters I need the practice perfecting my grafting, second maybe I’ll get to see what the fruit is like a little sooner. Just having some fun I guess.

Your gooseberries must not be as thorny as mine. There is NO WAY I would try to graft to one of those stems.
