More help requested for grape collection at Wolfskill.

Hello CRFG,

I hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy.

Thank you to those of you who ventured out and helped us prune the National grape collection. With your help, we are about ¼ to 1/3 of the way through.

We are pruning on weekdays beginning at 9:00 and on this Saturday, March 28 beginning at 8:00. If you plan to come out, please drop me an email.

We can keep people safe pruning because we have so much space in the field to spread out and so many grapes to prune. Individuals prune every other row and the rows are 13 feet apart, ensuring that people are 20 feet apart, unless they share a residence or come in the same automobile.
However, we cannot do that with our fruit tastings. Therefore, we are cancelling all public fruit tastings until further notice. Eventually things will regain normalcy and they will return.

Again thank you for all of your help it is greatly appreciated.

John

Thanks for posting this! I’m just south of Sac so this would be doable and hopefully I can learn some things about pruning grapes.
