Had fun doing some interstem grafts today

For the last couple years,Raintree Nursery has been selling Nadia scions,so maybe that one is a possibility. bb

Here is a update on those interstems all these years later. I have about 6 different varieties of cherry on that plum rootstock and they do really well. So it does work.

How is the fruit production?

Its hard to say. The last too winters have been unusually warm in the desert southwest and we received little chill. Hard to judge because of that.

Eric, have your efforts demonstrated a minimum size necessary for the interstem to support the cherries?

ive used different length intetstems. These first ones were very short. Maybe 3". Seem to be just fine. These days i try to do interstems at about 8"
